Sky Touch Media ("STMLabs", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of farmers, agricultural stakeholders, and citizens using the Punjab Jal mobile application. This Privacy Policy details how our application handles information, complies with Google Play Developer Policies, and adheres strictly to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, India).

2. Location Information (Foreground GPS Only)

The Punjab Jal application requests access to approximate/precise device location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION / ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) solely for the following explicit in-app purpose:

• Auto-detecting Nearest District: To automatically select your Punjab district (e.g., Sangrur, Bathinda, Moga) and provide you with instant, local groundwater levels, water table drop rates, and rainfall forecasts.

3. Data Collection, Storage & Local Caching

Punjab Jal operates on an Offline-First architecture:

• Local Device Storage: Your chosen language preference (Punjabi, Hindi, or English) and saved Warabandi canal turns are saved locally on your device via SharedPreferences.
• No Central Database of Personal Records: We do not maintain any central cloud database storing your individual farm coordinates or identity.
• Community Borewell Logs: If you voluntarily contribute a local tubewell depth log under the community feature, only the selected district/village name and depth numbers are recorded to help fellow farmers. No personal contact numbers or names are made public.

4. Third-Party Services, Maps & Advertising

• Google Maps Navigation: The application contains interactive links to view verified borewell drillers and DWSS water testing laboratories on Google Maps. When you tap "View on Google Maps", Google's standard privacy policy governs your interaction with Google Maps services.
• No Commercial Ad Tracking: Punjab Jal v1.0 contains NO third-party advertising SDKs, trackers, or commercial monetization banners. We do not sell user data or behavioral analytics to third-party data brokers.

5. User Rights & DPDP Act 2023 Compliance

Under Section 12 of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023, every user has the absolute right to access, rectify, and erase their data:

• One-Tap Data Erasure: Inside the app's "About & Legal Compliance" section, a dedicated "Clear All Data" (ਸਾਰਾ ਡਾਟਾ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰੋ) button is available. Pressing this instantly wipes all local cache, saved schedules, and preferences from your device.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You may revoke location permissions at any time via Android Device Settings > Apps > Punjab Jal > Permissions.

6. Security & Android 15 (16 KB) Architecture

We implement industry-standard software security controls:

• All official external reference links (CGWB, PAU, PWRDA, JJM) use encrypted HTTPS connections.
• The app is compiled using Google’s modern 16 KB page-aligned architecture on Android 15/16 with R8 obfuscation and resource shrinking to prevent tampering.

7. Scientific Data Grounding & Non-Government Affiliation

Disclaimer: Punjab Jal is an independent public-interest technology initiative by Sky Touch Media (STMLabs). While the app incorporates published, open scientific datasets from official authorities—including the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Punjab Water Regulation and Development Authority (PWRDA), and Department of Water Supply and Sanitation (DWSS)—Punjab Jal is not an official government entity nor endorsed by any political authority. Ground water depth and extraction estimates are indicative and based on published survey trends.
