1. Information We Do Not Collect

We believe in data minimization. When you use VideoSave:

• No Personal Identification Information (PII): We do not require registration, accounts, names, phone numbers, or email addresses to use the core utility.
• No Media Uploads: Media files downloaded through the application are saved directly to your device's local storage (Gallery / Movies / Pictures). We do not transmit or duplicate your media onto our servers.
• No Location Tracking: We do not request, access, or track GPS or precise location data.
• No Contact or Social Graph Access: We do not access your contacts, address book, or social media followers.

2. On-Device Features & Permissions

VideoSave requests strictly the minimum set of permissions necessary to deliver core downloader functions:

• Internet & Network State: Used exclusively to connect to the public URLs you input and stream/download the requested media content.
• Storage Access (Android 9 and below): Used only on legacy Android versions to write downloaded photos and videos to your local storage. On Android 10+ (API 29+), modern scoped storage (MediaStore) is used without broad storage access.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used solely to display real-time download progress and completion notifications via the Android notification drawer. You can toggle this off in system settings at any time.
• Foreground Service: Used to ensure ongoing downloads are completed without interruption if you switch apps.
• Clipboard Access: If you enable the "Clipboard Auto-Fetch" option in Settings, the app checks your clipboard locally upon resuming to detect copied Instagram links. Clipboard data is processed 100% in-memory on your device and is never sent to any server.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

Phase 1 Clean Architecture: VideoSave version 1.0.0 is completely free of advertising SDKs, tracking frameworks, and third-party data analytics. We do not integrate tracking cookies, ad networks, or user profiling beacons.

4. Disclaimer Regarding Third-Party Platforms

VideoSave is an independent utility tool. It is not affiliated with, associated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., or any of their subsidiaries.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal right, ownership, or authorized consent of the original content creator before downloading, sharing, or reposting any media.

5. Children's Privacy

Our Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary action.

6. Security of Your Data

Because all processing occurs locally on your device, your security is tied directly to your device's security. We follow industry best practices, modern Android architecture (16 KB page alignment, R8 code shrinking, secure network configs), and adhere to Google Play Developer Program Policies.
