1. Zero Personal Data Collection

PlantDoc does not require user registration, email logins, phone numbers, or social authentication. You can freely explore the offline botanical encyclopedia, use disease diagnostics, and calculate light meter readings anonymously.

We do not collect, process, or transmit personally identifiable information (PII) such as your real name, physical address, financial accounts, or device phone numbers.

2. Camera & Device Gallery Permissions

PlantDoc requests camera and storage access exclusively to facilitate horticultural identification and AI leaf disease diagnosis:

• Camera Permission (CAMERA): Used only when you tap the camera trigger to photograph a plant or sick leaf in real time.
• Photo Gallery Access: Used solely when you choose an existing photo of a domestic plant from your device library.
• No Background Capture: Camera hardware is never activated in the background or without your direct tactile command.

3. AI Image Processing & Google Generative AI Safeguards

When you submit a photograph for AI pathology analysis or species identification:

• Encrypted Transport: The image is transmitted via high-grade encrypted HTTPS (TLS 1.3) directly to the Google Generative Language API.
• Transient In-Memory Processing: The image is analyzed ephemerally in RAM solely to return disease identification, confidence scores, and natural organic remedies. Images are not retained on remote servers or used to build user advertising profiles.
• Google Play Generative AI Policy Compliance: The AI model utilizes built-in non-plant rejection filters and safety guards. Users can flag anomalous results directly via email to support@stmlabs.net.

4. 100% On-Device Local SQLite Storage

All your personal garden entries—including plant nicknames, watering frequencies, misting notes, historical photos, and care logs—are stored strictly on your local device in a private SQLite database (plant_doc.db). You retain 100% ownership and control. Deleting a plant entry or clearing diagnostic history immediately and permanently purges the data from your device storage.

5. Care Reminders & Exact Alarm Permission

PlantDoc utilizes SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM and POST_NOTIFICATIONS to deliver punctual watering, fertilizing, and misting reminders:

• Reminders are scheduled natively within your operating system's alarm manager.
• Alarms fire reliably even during Android Doze mode to prevent household plants from wilting or dehydration.
• No reminder telemetry or scheduling logs are shared with external analytics services.

6. Hardware Ambient Sunlight Sensor

The integrated Sunlight Meter reads luminous flux (lux) directly from your device’s onboard ambient light sensor (TYPE_LIGHT). Sensor measurements are computed instantaneously in-memory to classify low, medium, or bright indirect light and are never stored, logged, or uploaded.

7. Zero Advertising & Third-Party Trackers

PlantDoc contains no third-party advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob, Unity Ads, or Meta Audience Network) and does not record or transmit the Google Advertising ID (AAID).

8. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

PlantDoc is designed for general horticultural and domestic gardening enthusiasts. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe personal information of a minor was inadvertently provided, please notify us immediately for prompt deletion.

9. International Regulatory Compliance

PlantDoc complies with leading global privacy legislations:

• European Union GDPR: Legitimate interests, right to erasure, and zero remote data retention.
• California CCPA / CPRA: We do not "sell" or "share" consumer personal data as defined under California law.
• India DPDP Act 2023: Transparent on-device processing and clear purpose limitation.
